Color Theory

This is my magnificent color wheel.

Define:
Monochromatic:containing or using only one color.

Analogous: Analogous colors are groups of colors that are adjacent to each other on the color wheel

Complementary: colors directly opposite each other in the color spectrum, such as red and green or blue and orange, that when combined in the right proportions, produce white light.
Color triads: These are any three colors that are equidistant on the color wheel. When triad colors are used in a color scheme, they present a tension to the viewer, because all three colors contrast.
Split Complementary Colors: The split-complementary color scheme is a variation of the complementary color scheme. In addition to the base color, it uses the two colorsadjacent to its complement.

Interviewing a Designer

Interviewing A Designer

Interviewing a real, professional designer was really interesting for multiple reasons.
It answered some of the many questions I had in my mind and cleared thoughts about how do you become a designer, what do you actually do as one professionally and other related questions.

Self As a Designer

Hello, My Name is Ashab Siddiqui. When I think of design, I think of inventing straight away. Sometimes, that can mean coding an application to make it do something for you. I am most comfortable coding to design an application but I guess there's more to design than that.

Answer: My goals for this class is to learn about designing various items in order to solve a problem and apply it to a real life example. This would allow me to figure out and design solutions to common problems that I have.

Three Common Problems to try to fix:

1. A Gadget to help carry grocery bags to home; Many People try to carry all their groceries out of there cars to their house in one trip. We will try to solve this.

2. Make Sun-Proof and defogging windows for cars; There are times when driving, when you cannot see through the windshield for various reasons. Sometimes, there is persistent fog that clears up in a long time. There can also be the glaring sun that shines so bright you can't see ahead of you. This causes many accidents. We will also try to solve this.

3. Print out assignments in class. We may find ourselves in situations where you need to print a document out but you do not have a printer with you. This will solve that. Making a portable printer can be a solution to this problem

4. Scan-Type Documents; If we have a document to type, and it is already hand written, why should we type it all out? Instead, we can use a scanner that scans for your words in your document that automatically spits it out into your word document. Without any typing hassle.
