3D printer
I wish to make a 3D name. I want to make it fancy and stylish because you normally cant make an intricate letter yourself with ease. This should be relatively easier than other shapes that other students may be able to do. A simple nutcracker, produced with about the same amount of filament, would cost about $3.

Maker Faire Reflection
Maker Faire was an amazing event and the experience was amazing. We were able to showcase a playable game using Unity. Although we didn't start from scratch as I had hoped and imagined, we were able to make it better and more "legitimate" than what I had thought before. I think that we should have started a bit earlier, maybe from the beginning of the year. A class that makes a game and in the process, learns about computer science and design would be really cool to take. I think before should make a club which all of this classes' students should join and we could improve upon the game and present the new one in 2016's Maker Faire.

Reflection Makerfaire 4/17/15
I changed my goal midway through the week to figuring out how to add realistic water to unity. I was able to make the water realistic but i wasnt ablt ot swim in it. Instead of wasting more than a day, I decided to go ahead and try making a car go along with the first person character to drive. I now just need to be able to link the character's camera with the car.

MakerFaire Team
I feel like I would be best working with the level design/environment team. I have several years of experience with creating and designing applications with a team of 4 or 5. I enjoy designing as it has a little bit of each group as it contains an art aspect as well as a bit of engineering/coding part.

- What is the game like?
- Destiny is a first-person shooter video game that involves multiplayer and a solid, very interesting story line. You can play together with friends and others that are like you.
- How was it developed?
- " One of the first things we did when we were creating each of the different places you visit was to establish what we called a postcard: in one image, we would set up the tone, the story, and what the players are going to feel when they first land. For example, the Cosmodrome [set in Russia]: The postcard for that area had the big wall, and the line of cars, and the colony ships poking up in the distance. Capturing that feel in an image before even fleshing out the entire destination was something important to our process. "
- Who developed it?
- Bungie
- Why was it created?
- It's an immersive Multiplayer game
- Was is this game intriguing to you?
- Include documentation of the game (photos/videos)

Geometric Constraints Challenge
- What shapes did you use in the design of your model shelter, and why did you choose those shapes?
- What angles resulted from the shapes you chose?
- What was the overall surface area of the shelter’s exterior? What material would you cover the outside of your shelter with, and how much of it would you need?
- What was the overall surface area of the shelter’s interior? Approximately, how many people would comfortably fit in your shelter?
- What external load factors did you taken into account for your shelter? How did you design your shelter model to meet those constraints?
- How did you consider “form follows function” in the design of your shelter?
We tried to make the structure as strong as possible.

Reverse Engineering
How do visual design principles and elements impact the commercial appeal of a product?
Objects are designed to appeal to the customer. They use the visual design process to make it appealing.
What does a black box represent in the system input/output model?
The "black box" portion of the system contains formulas and calculations that the user does not see nor need to know to use the system.
Why do engineers perform reverse engineering on products, and how would you describe it in your own words?
The reason for reverse engineering, is so that engineers would be able to find out how a product works in order to make a better product. A good example of this would be taking apart a clock and finding all the gears inside moving and you can see the parts and how they move. After, you would be able to put it back together and you now know how a clock works
Part of the mission of Automoblox is to "offer a high quality building system that will delight and inspire children while fostering the development of important skills and learning foundations." If given the opportunity, how would you improve the Automoblox design (visually, functionally, or structurally) while furthering the mission of the company at minimal cost?
I would make the Automoblox more open to customization as some parts don't fit with one another if they arent from the same car. I would also make it so that the cars weigh a little less than the wood they use by using some other wood. It would also be a good idea to make it so the wheel tire is easy to take off of the wheel rim. There are still some pointy edges on the car so I would sand those till they are flattened down.
Geometry of Design
What are the various geometric shapes and how are they defined by their characteristics?
Triangles, Squares and Circles are just a few geometric shapes. They exhibit various characteristics that are unique to one another.
How are physical properties of objects used to define design requirements? The physical properties of an object is a major factor that can be used to find the design requirements. The reason is because an objects shape, structure and size would effect a specific design of a final product.
What advantages do CAD programs provide over traditional paper and pencil design? What advantages does paper and pencil design provide over CAD?
CAD programs have the ability to create realistic, colorful and 3D designs of products that you wouldn't able to do without it. It also would be able to adjust textures and you can also put pieces together to see if the design would work before actually testing it out in real life. With a piece of paper and pencil, you would be able to quickly and efficiently work without much experience. You can create an unrealistic yet incredible design on paper, but find it wouldn't work in the real world.

Here I have used Inventor 2015 and made a passenger base for a automoblox model. It is a 3D piece that has 4 basic hole shapes made inside of it so that you can place 4 matching figures into it. This was quite hard at first, but after getting all the measurements from the sketch given, it became easier to do. Unfortunately, I was only able to do the rectangle, circle, and triangle. I was able to do the star, but I had run out of time at the end.

Form Follows Function
- Describe: Describe what you intended—colors, size shapes.
- Analyze: Try to describe the process for how it is made.
The door frame would be made of titanium for maximum strength. The center piece for the door would be made of bulletproof glass which would be strong and secure. The door would be attached to a large rotating column, much like the one in revolving doors. This would be made of metal alloy.
- Apply: Describe the ways it meets the project requirement
We were to find and everyday object that we would want to make more efficient that isn't exactly following form follows function, which in other words, means that when designing a product, the product should be efficient and then you can make tweaks on it that makes it look better. The store door doesn't exactly follow this as most doors are made to look good and they arent easy to open and close sometimes as it can either be a push or pull door. Some sliding doors break down and arent very strong. This concept has both strength and ease to open.
- Associate: What does it remind you of?
This door is most like a revolving door. This has similar properties, but it is more techy than a revolving door.
- Compare: To what is it similar? In what way is it unique?
This is similar to a revolving door and it has many of the push properties of a old saloon door. It has increased security, control locking, and ease of use.
- Arguments: Take a stand, have an opinion. How could it be better
It could be made better by adding a sensor for detecting when a robber is approaching. No matter what the locking mode is, auto lock will occur and the robber will be stopped from opening the door.

Puzzle Cube Reflection
Why is it important to model an idea before making a final prototype?
The reason for making a prototype of a product is to be able to find and fix any mistakes or flaws with your design. To be able to fix your design is a key design and problem solving step that everyone must follow when coming up with a design or idea.
What is one thing you love about your puzzle?
I really like the fact that there are many blocks that look like they would be fitting into the other block holder piece, but in reality they do not fit in the puzzle to make the 3X3 cube that is to be made.
What would you like to change about your puzzle if you could?
I'd want to be able to sand the puzzle a bit more and be able to confuse others easier than before. If this was possible, it would be close to impossible to solve as already, some people werent able to solve it in the given time. The ones who did received a hint in the last minute of the 15 minutes.

Cube Puzzle
We're making a puzzle using blocks to form a 3x3 block cube.
Here are the drawings that I've done on 2 designs that I've came up with.
The first two shown are "cake layers" in which shown are layers of the puzzle in a less layered layout than the actual puzzle. The pieces are separated out. 5 different colors are used in each drawing.
At the very bottom, I've posted an isometric sketch of all the puzzle parts.
I chose this design over the other design due to the fact that this puzzle would be more able to fit the time requirements that was required for someone else to solve this puzzle. It wouldnt take as long as the other design that I had come up with.

Fling Machine
Our data that we collected is very astonishing as it isn't very precise. There is no target distance so we cannot determine whether or not it is accurate.
Our Fling Machine was strong, yet it became extremely unreliable. This was due to the fact that it was not very stable and the rubber band launching is unstable in just your hands.
Our Fling Machine was strong, yet it became extremely unreliable. This was due to the fact that it was not very stable and the rubber band launching is unstable in just your hands.
The data that we collected is not very consistent. It varies and isn't precise at all. Precision should be our goal to improve as the more precise your data is, the chance that it'll fail in the real situation would severely decrease. If more time was given and we had the correct materials, we'd be able to increase reliability and increase our distance quite easily. Our Fling machine was just a simple piece of rubber band and the cotton ball to launch. I had brought some materials but, they proved to be useless without the other materials that we were supposed to bring to class.
Line Work
The Line work that we had did has a tremendous amount of information that we received. The different styles of lines and how we can use them to make an incredible drawing of a very simple object makes different styles of how you use lines the most basic yet powerful tool that every designer or artist must have. Different styles of line work allows you to be dynamic in your drawings to depict the most intricate and complicated works easier to do, yet still have the same effect on your audience. At first, my drawings weren't that great and I was having some trouble in drawing. However, after some help from my partner and Ms. Leppla, I was more able to do those drawings with much less effort. Unfortunately, my drawings got water after some rain had seeped through my backpack when it had rained.
